Deciding between tile and carpet requires careful planning and thought. Each have decided advantages and disadvantages that may or may not fit your lifestyle. In price, they’re tied almost neck-in-neck, unless you know how to install one option; that's where you can realize the savings. When you choose tile, you have a wide choice of colors and types from which to select. Tile can take a lot of abuse, resists stains and wears well. Maintenance doesn’t take much: a bit of regular sweeping, floor rugs to catch dirt, and periodic wet -mopping with manufacturer-recommended cleaners. On average, the World Floor Cpvering Association prices tile at between $4 and $12 per square foot installed and Carpet being between $2 and $15 per square foot.
